Dr. Stella Nyanzi has hit at veteran political journalist Abbey Ssewakiryanga alias Basajja Mivule saying it is betrayal for him to willingly cross to the ‘oppressor’.
The feminist academic and writer spent who almost 16 months inside Luzira prison for writing a poem on Facebook about President Museveni’s mother’s vagina, Dr. Nyanzi in a poem on Tuesday slammed Basajja Mivule, telling him off that it stains the core to cross over to the enemy of the people.
Basajja Mivule on Monday pledged his support for the National Resistance Movement under the stewardship of long serving leader Yoweri Museveni.
Basajja Mivule who was addressing the media at Eureka Place Hotel in Ntinda said he reached the decision after realizing that Uganda was infested by political contenders who want to turn Uganda immoral.
The self-styled critic stressed that he is far from being bribed to defect to any political party but it is just the spirit of patriotism in him coupled with a fruitful meeting between him and Events Promoter and NRM ardent follower, Balaam Barugahara that made him take the decision.
“I Basajja Mivule, therefore, announce my support to General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the coming presidential elections. I will support president Museveni until someone comes out to prove him wrong-until there comes a better candidate, I am going to support General Museveni,” he said.
But Dr. Nyanzi says whereas she totally understands Basajja Mivuke’s alleged pain, “but I don’t understand why you sold your soul to the devil”.
“It is painful to be insulted by newbies in the struggle, but it is an insult to the struggle to cross over to dictator Museveni”, she wrote a missive on Tuesday.
“It is sad to receive no tribesmen-visitors carrying food for you in jail, but it is self-defeating to run full throttle to the poisoned breast of the beast taunting our country”
