Minister Joins and Supports Nebbi Pilgrims on Journey to Namugongo
Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, the Minister of State for Mineral Development, has generously contributed to support the pilgrims from Nebbi Catholic Parish on their journey to the Martyrs Day celebrations. This act of support is part of a broader effort to assist and encourage the pilgrims on their long trek.
Today, the journey began in Bombo at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Namaliga, where the pilgrims gathered to receive morning briefings from the priest and team leaders. These briefings were essential to prepare the pilgrims for their next leg of the journey to Matuga Parish. The pilgrims are receiving support from MTN Uganda and MTN MoMo, which are providing logistical and financial assistance to ensure a smoother journey.
Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro joined the pilgrims from Nebbi on their pilgrimage to Namugongo. The Nebbi Catholic Parish is leading the mass, highlighting the significance of their participation in this spiritual journey. Nyamutoro met the group at Namaliga Parish in Bombo, where they had spent the night. Together, they continued to St. Francis Catholic Church in Bombo, which was their next stopover.
Nyamutoro’s involvement in the pilgrimage underscores the government’s commitment to supporting cultural and religious activities. Her presence and contribution have boosted the morale of the pilgrims, who are undertaking this challenging journey with great faith and dedication.
