Kabale – The Ndorwa West Parliamentary hopeful, Simon Agaba, has warned leaders against sabotaging developmental programs aimed at talent development and identification.
He revealed this today at Janan Luwum Memorial Secondary School playground in Kamuganguzi sub-county, Ndorwa West, Kabale District, after a group of hired men grabbed sports medals, trophies, white T-shirts, and capes designed for the MK Tournament.
Addressing journalists after the MK Football Tournament, the Ndorwa West Parliamentary hopeful, Simon Agaba, expressed concern about politicians sabotaging developments aimed at talent identification among the youth.
Agaba stated that they had fought for the success of the MK Tournament from day one up to today, May 26, 2023, where certain individuals, whom he hesitated to mention by name, hired men who grabbed medals, white caps, and T-shirts designed for the event.
Simon added that the hired men were armed with pangas to the extent of fighting back after the community descended on them.
He further mentioned that they have been trying to thwart every politician who tries to stand in Ndorwa West, stating that this time, no one will trifle with the Patriotic League of Uganda.
Asiimwe Evalist, the National Sports Coordinator of General Muhoozi Keinerugaba, condemned the hooligans who stole the medals for the footballers.
The Kabale District Chairman, Nelson Nshangabasheija, who also serves as the coordinator for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in the Kigezi sub-region, condemned those who have been opposing the tournament from day one. He praised Simon Agaba for organizing a successful event.
Some eyewitnesses, led by Mutesasira Ian from COBAP Boxing Club, reported that the goons disguised themselves as supporters of General Mk and the tournament, approached the car, and then grabbed the medals.
